- Sonja Chan Glad you like it, Cynthia (and Mieke)..my thanks. Truly a heaven-sent respite from stormy winds this time of the year in the east coast!
- Sonja Chan Helen, yes, I think so too! Played with 'movement' and 'displacement' alongside with it but yes, I like your word 'lovely' - thanks!

small stone 3- Wisp of a Wind
small stone 5 - Race You!
February 6 - Race you!
From the school bus to that embrace
To now she says: "Race you to the doorstep!"
And I say, "You got it!" So we go -
"On your mark, get s- Hey! not fair!"
She just went running but okay, she's
Coming back, laughing like,- oh God!-
Laughing like the world is all hers
Or that the world will never end!
And under her breath she says, "Just kidding!
Come on, let's start all over!"
So again we go - "On your mark, get set, go!"
And off with the wind she - looks back, though.
And runs to me with arms outstretched,
Ready to lift my prostrate form,
Like she, for the love for me, could undo
That misstep I did,- clumsy, mortifying!
"Please don't die!", this time, she is crying!
"Of course, I won't!" Now, quick to my arms
This angel I take. And seated both we are now
On the driveway, yes, not quite by the doorway
But in each others' comfort,
"Hush", I say, "I'm okay!"
I'm no good at racing, am I?

- Sonja Chan Thanks, too, Pam...racing kids should be a sport, too? lol! But thanks again for the love!
- Sonja Chan Maggie, children do give such inspiration for writing even in very common occurrences in life, don't they?
- Mike Smith My 6yo boy can now run faster than me, but to my 3yo girl I'm still invincible. A magic time. Well written Sonja. Thank you.
- Sonja Chan Thanks, Mike! So kind of you. But watch that little girl of yours... she'll go faster than you in no time!
- Mike Smith No time at all Sonja, which can also be said of how quickly my parenting time shall vanish.
- Sonja Chan I know! but you can brace up for the next level of it, you know.... - how's about grandparenting?
- Mike Smith That's not going to happen anytime soon, as I've lined up all the older cousins to keep the boys away for the next 30 years or so. haha
- Nicki Jelly Maskelyne I love this stone.
My 3 year old son beat me to the front door today and was so excited that he had won he felt the need to announce it loudly to the world. I attempted to look sad as if I wish I had won and he quickly said 'Oh it's OK Mummy, I know ...See More - Sonja Chan Welcome to the club, Nicki! Mike was just kind of on the same line of thought.. children do bring us to a world so joyfully pure and fairyland like we wish (and try to do funny things so that) it went on forever! But that was a nice story you have, too, tfs. And thanks for the kind comment as well.
