Random thoughts that obtain at the spur of the moment: -conveying recall of time gone, projecting aspirations and preferences for the future, revealing present choices and dispositions, ushering one's heart to aspects unreal.....these make up reconstructed time.

February 12 - Colors Three
Thought-Random:
The three color stripes that charm my eyes today come in a carpet of
white starting from ground, followed by a line of bare, but beautiful
branches of brown that breathtakingly frame the third paint brush of blue
stunningly spreading out up into space and its vast expanse.
White, brown, and blue, a triumvirate of some favorites; but I wonder
which of the rainbow colors you'd call your own......

February 11 - In Between the Lines
Thought-Random:
When I read you and find your words turn
just a trifle too abstract for me,
I try to catch you instead in the cadence of
rhyme and rhythm, of assonance and yes,
of alliteration and, too, in the world of tone,
of imagery, persona, metaphor.
But next am I blessed with a touch of daybreak
when in those images and allusions at hand
can I behold an epiphany of aspects and realities
in a dimension of my own parallel to yours,
just like a missing segment from a wall of bricks,
I create through that peep hole it leaves -
A whole new visual field, a spectacle all mine
Thus did I make my own poetry, thank you!

February 10 - Spell Breaker
Thought-Random:
The missing brick, they say,
would be the last piece
to the puzzle, can be the
key to the mystery, must be
the resolution to the story.
The missing brick could also
behind the wall situate you,
giving you a perfect window,
a peep hole perhaps to a
a graveyard, a city, a forest
maybe, even to a running brook.
But I'd like to think of
the missing brick as the eyes
to your thoughts, a disclosure
of your sentiments, some clue
to the enigma that is you -
And retrieving it would certainly
yield the lost dawn to this dusk!

February 9 - The Choice
Thought Random:
Snow rages outside while
warmth permeates inside.
And you ask me
which of these I choose?
Well, let me say I love the
cozy feel of book in hand,
the goodness of coffee rich
in taste and smell, yes, both,
that touch of resurrection
as it slithers down my throat,
with background clarinet sounds
mellow as only Acker Bilk can
have it through my earphones wend
and have my day complete.
And yet, I come to think of it,
make up my mind and say
with outstretched arms and eyes
to'ards heaven: lead me to the outside
please - let the outline bare of trees
fascinate, delight my sight
as with carpets of total whiteness
wrap my spirit in celestial splendor,
let me revel in the snow, in that wind,
in that captivating sense -of
the raw and freezing cold
yet in most sublime magnificence.
Thus, in this the wintry part of weather,
join me - celebrate the outdoors!

February 8 - Obliterated Wait
Thought-Random:
Standing by the seashore,
watching for the door;
Gazing at the mailbox,
joining airport crowds;
List'ning for the phone, and
scanning your computer;
Checking out the driveway -
Doing just what, I pray, you are?
Trifling away elusive time?
February 7 - Migraine
Thought-Random:
A touch of total darkness,
the sound of drumbeats deep,
the hold of excruciating pain that
rends my head to diverse sections -
leaving me in consummate
helplessness, it makes me cling to
life's one strand of hope for release
from this hellish fire that wants to
consume my thoughts, my feel of
the world, my desire to breathe in
essence -
But defeat swathes me... and I yield!

February 6 - Race you!
Thought-Random:
From the school bus to that embrace
To now she says: "Race you to the doorstep!"
And I say, "Little girl, you got it!" So we go -
"On your mark, get s- Hey! not fair!"
She just went running but okay, she's
Coming back, laughing like,- oh God!-
Laughing like the world is all hers
Or that the world will never end!
And under her breath she says, "Just kidding!
Come on, let's start all over!"
So again we go - "On your mark, get set, go!"
And off with the wind she - looks back, though.
And runs to me with arms outstretched,
Ready to lift my prostrate form,
Like she, for the love for me, could undo
That misstep I did,- mortifying and clumsy!
"Please don't die!", this time, she is crying!
"Of course, I won't!" Now, quick to my arms
This angel I take. And seated both we are now
On the driveway, yes, not quite by the doorway
But in each others' comfort,
"Hush", I say, "I'm okay!"
I'm no good at racing, am I?

February 5 - Warm as Wine
Thought-Random:
She half-runs out the school bus
this angel with a backpack pink,
arms outstretched ready to catch my neck
ready to squeeze the life out of me with
hunger you'd think she suffered for years.
So I let her as I savor love so warm, so
sweet, so heavenly as none
but a child could give.....

February 4 - Once upon a cloud
Thought-Random:
Through my window this cloud,
its backdrop the blue sky makes.
And in this morning fair assumes
a giant bear, then a mountain -
Now it shifts into an open book, into
a wine glass, into a - what's this?
This face outline it now assumes, I just
had in my mind! But it goes, yes, it fades.
Just like time, it slips away!
Through my window this cloud,
its backdrop the blue sky makes.

February 3 - Afternoon Breeze
Thought-Random:
. The school bus is late but I stand in wait to notice
that shifting among the tree leaves in a distance-
The agitation makes a slow progression toward me
and now I feel on my face his touch -
this gentle, playful, wisp of a wind.

February 2 - Fire
Thought Random:
Fire is life rather than destruction.
It is the blaze that triggers your mind
into wanton achieving;
It is the flame that keeps in your heart
the love light burning.

February 1 - Rain
Thought-Random:
With the rain, I see beauty
in the wanton downfall of water:
clear, ....fresh,... pure,.....cool,....
unmindful of anything -
of anything
but to meet the kiss of earth!
